The worldwide famous EDM superband Swedish House Mafia, which dissolved back in 2013 never to meet again… is reuniting! But come on, electronic music fans and lovers, don’t get too much over your head! The bottom line is, that the reunion will not be permanent and it will happen just once…
The good news is that it was our nightclub’s owner Jeremiah Walesley, who was able to talk all 3 Swedish guys into getting an act together again, for just one night, happening right next Friday at our nightclub!
Just to remind you, in case you have forgotten their backstory after their split in 2013, we’ll remind you of what they were and why they split…
PEOPLE, CAN YOU HEAR ME? THERE’S A MESSAGE THAT I’M SENDING OUT. I’VE GOT THE ANSWER TO ALL YOUR PROBLEMS. AND TONIGHT I’LL BE SINGING IT LOUD. JUST SURRENDER YOURSELF TO THE RHYTHM. PUT YOUR HANDS UP IN THE SKY. FEEL THE ENERGY DEEP INSIDE YOUR SYSTEM AND LEAVE THIS WORLD BEHIND.Swedish House Mafia, “Leave The World Behind” lyrics
The history of that remarkable superband began in the late 2008, when Sall of its 3 members, then all famous DJs from Sweden – Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso teamed up to play sets together…
In a swift takeover, they became the most mainstream progressive house music group, having perhaps only Deadmau5 as a competitor.
Throughout the first 4 years that they were together, they’ve released a multitude of tracks and EPs, which all had very high initial reception both with fans, colleagues, music critics, nightclubs and the radio hosts, worldwide…
In fact, at the very beginning of their career, another popular Swedish DJ Eric Prydz has been an occasional guest and a participant…
All in all, in just 4 years the superband released two Long Play studio albums Until One (2010) & Until Now (2012), which have since both surpassed 2 million downloads on a Beatport platform (iTunes analogue for EDM music)…
Of course, we shouldn’t forget, that after the breakup in 2013 (due to internal conflicts in a team), Axwell & Ingrosso has formed their own music act, releasing six singles since than. Those were the: “Something New”, “On My Way”, “Can’t Hold Us Down”, “Sun Is Shining”, “This Time” and “Dream Bigger”.
All in all, we can promise you, that both the tracks from their 2 studio albums, as well as the 6 former singles will be featured on their reunion next Friday!
